BEU-INHA DDP students succeed in ecological hackathon

Students of the dual degree program (BEU-INHA DDP) between Baku Engineering University and Inha University of the Republic of Korea have succeeded in the hackathon dedicated to environmental protection, jointly organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency and the “Impulse4Women” Association operating in Spain.

Within the framework of the competition, participants were required to present innovative solutions on 3 main topics. Climate change and its socio-economic impacts, green energy and alternative solutions, waste management and recycling were among the main topics.

The students were provided with mentoring sessions by the “Impulse4Women” Association and “Transformation Lighthouse”, as well as close support to the participants for the implementation of innovative projects.

In the competition, BEU-INHA DDP students - the "2Green" team represented by Fatima Salimzade (Information Technology) won 1st place with their project on self-healing cement using encapsulated bacteria, and the "Cristal Clean" team represented by Leyla Allahverdiyeva (Electrical Engineering) won 3rd place with their project using robotic technology to solve the drinking water problem. The 1st place winner was awarded 3,000 euros, and the 3rd place winner was awarded 1,000 euros.
