The event has provided detailed information on admission to the international dual degree program in Information Technology

Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the "State Program 2019-2023" Management Group jointly organized a webinar to promote engineering specialties in the country. The webinar was dedicated to "Perspectives of Information Technology Engineering: Digital Transformation in Companies”.

The main purpose of the webinar is to discuss the future prospects of the specialty of information technology, the development of this specialty in Azerbaijan, as well as to provide detailed information on admission to the international dual degree program in information technology.

The moderator of the event, Tarlan Abbasova, a specialist in dual degree programs of the State Program Management Group, spoke about the "State Program to increasing the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023." Noting that international dual degree programs were established between the world's leading universities and Azerbaijani universities in priority areas for the country's economy, the moderator spoke about the international dual degree program implemented between BEU and Inha University in South Korea at the undergraduate level.

Anar Rustamov, founder and CEO of “Sourced Agile”, who had 15 years of experience in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT), spoke at the webinar. He noted that companies in Germany, the United States and other developed countries were digitalizing.

Rustamov spoke in detail about the ways to implement digitalization in Azerbaijan and developing countries. He said that the first step in digitalization began with the automation of business processes. He noted the business model, automation and modernization of business processes and shared his experiences.

Sevinj Isgandarov, Chief Specialist of BEU-Inha Dual Degree Program, noted that Inha University of South Korea and BEU signed an agreement on dual degree programs in 2020, 72 students have already studied and completed the first year of the program.

Emphasizing the advantages of the program, Isgandarov said that students would be able to benefit from international experience without leaving the country. She added that the program played an important role in training a new generation of engineers in Azerbaijan to meet the requirements of the XXI century in the field of engineering, using modern innovative teaching and learning technologies. In addition to the students, the university's faculty will be sent to South Korea for each specialty during the program and will be trained at Inha University.

Noting that the program was based on the 3 + 1 model, S. Isgandarov said that the admission was carried out in 4 specialties and the transition points for these specialties were determined. The program is conducted at the bachelor's level in 4 specialties - Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering, and it is planned to admit a total of 100 applicants. Applicants who score the required passing score in each specialty in the exam organized by the State Examination Center (SEC) can apply to this program.
