Rector Meet with Korean Students Undergoing Internship at BEU

A meeting was held with Korean students participating in the summer internship program at Baku Engineering University (BEU).

During the meeting, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev spoke about the importance of the internship program being implemented within the framework of the agreement signed with the Climate Crisis Response Project Group of Korea's INHA University. He stated that the internship program creates a unique opportunity for students to acquire educational and practical knowledge during the summer semester, as well as in terms of knowledge integration. Yagub Piriyev said that such internship programs are also important from the aspect of acquiring multicultural values. The rector noted that the cooperation established between BEU and INHA University is aimed not only at the field of education, but also at developing joint scientific approaches to climate change problems that are relevant on a global scale, emphasizing the importance of the COP29 climate event held in Azerbaijan last year in terms of increasing attention to the world's ecological problems. He also informed the students about the work and targets being carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev to increase the share of alternative and renewable energy sources in our country.

The meeting discussed the successful implementation of the international dual degree program at the bachelor's level between BEU and INHA University.

Subsequently, an exchange of views was conducted regarding the academic activities the students participated in during their internship period, the projects they were involved in, and the practical knowledge they gained.

An Hyejin, a student of "Energy Resources Engineering" specialization at INHA University, and Jin Yeongmin, a student of "Political Science and International Relations" specialization, spoke about the results they achieved during the internship period, saying they were satisfied with BEU's environment and the attention shown to them by the faculty and student body. The students also shared their pleasant impressions about Azerbaijan, its culture, and national cuisine.

At the end, the rector presented commemorative gifts to the students and gave them recommendations regarding their future education.
