A seminar dedicated to the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi has been organized by the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Pedagogy of Baku Engineering University (BEU).  

The event was moderated by the head of the department, associate professor Emin Agayev.

Recalling the declaration of 2021 as the “Year of Nizami Ganjavi” in our country in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dean of the Education Faculty, assoc.prof. Elshad Abdullayev noted that the Cabinet of Ministers had prepared an action plan. In his speech, he spoke about the works of Nizami Ganjavi, a great classic of Azerbaijani poetry, one of the greatest poets of the East. 

Noting that the seminar was dedicated to a very important topic, Professor of the Department Akif Huseynli stressed the importance of researching the works of Nizami Ganjavi and inculcating them in the younger generation.

The lectures entitled “The Role of Nizami Ganjavi in the Deleopment of the East Literary aesthetic thinkin” by Head of the Mythology Department of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor Seyfaddin Rzasoy, and “The Comparison of the Literary Works in the Azerbaijani Literature that are about Genius Nizami Ganjavi”  by Senior researcher of Nizami Ganjavi Center of Ganja Branch of ANAS, PhD. in Philology Alimukhtar Mukhtarov were listened to at the event. 

They spoke about the works of the great thinker and gave examples. It was noted that Nizami's works, which had become an integral part of the spirituality of our people, was an invaluable treasure for teaching our national values and national literature to young people.
