A cooperation memorandum has been signed between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the Ministry of Health's V.Y.Akhundov Research Institute of Medical Prevention. 

The document, signed by BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev and Research Institute of Medical Prevention Director Adil Allahverdiyev, envisages the implementation of joint initiatives in the fields of scientific research, education and practical activities, the involvement of students in internship programs, as well as the execution of various awareness-raising projects. The document also reflects the conduct of joint research at the international level, the presentation of significant scientific results to be obtained at various conferences and scientific symposia, and their publication in prestigious foreign journals.  

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Rector Yagub Piriyev stated that the established cooperation would serve to further expand scientific potential and educational opportunities. Highlighting the innovations and structural changes implemented at BEU in recent years, the rector particularly emphasized the establishment of the Food and Biotechnology Department. He noted that the "Biotechnology" specialty, for which admission has been conducted at BEU for two years, generates great interest among applicants, and in addition to the allocated quota being fully filled, students with high scores have been admitted to this field. Stating that the application of the "Biotechnology" specialty holds great importance in many strategic fields, Yagub Piriyev emphasized that the educational process in this direction at the university is organized in accordance with modern requirements, and laboratories equipped with modern equipment are operating to develop students' practical skills. He added that cooperation with the Research Institute of Medical Prevention would play an irreplaceable role in the further development of this work.

Research Institute of Medical Prevention Director Adil Allahverdiyev stated that the signed document opens new opportunities in the field of scientific research and education. He noted that this cooperation would serve to enhance the knowledge and skills of young specialists, as well as to form modern approaches. Speaking about the growing importance of strategic specialties such as biotechnology in our contemporary era and presenting a number of concrete examples, the professor also positively assessed the operation of the Food and Biotechnology Department at BEU and the increased attention to personnel training in these fields. He noted that through the joint activities of the institute and the university, the implementation of scientific research, seminars and internship programs, and the achievements to be obtained as a result of the unity of science and education would make an important contribution to the overall common work.

Subsequently, issues arising from the memorandum were discussed.
