An infosession on the topic of “Compulsory medical insurance” has been organized for students and employees at Baku Engineering University (BEU).
At the event, Bayram Huseynzada, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of the university, spoke about the important steps taken by our state towards the introduction of compulsory medical insurance in our country, the reforms implemented in this area, and the work done to provide the population with quality health services. The Vice-Rector also noted that the social welfare and health protection of BEU employees and students is always in the focus of attention of the university management and holding such events serves to increase the awareness of the staff.
Later, Fuad Bayramov, an employee of the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, made a speech. He provided necessary information about the essence, goals, and advantages of compulsory medical insurance for citizens. It was noted that the compulsory medical insurance system provides every citizen, regardless of their financial situation, with the opportunity to benefit from necessary medical services equally.
The event also discussed services that are and are not included in the insurance envelope, the rules for applying to state medical institutions, the mechanism for covering services. Moreover, issues, including in which cases the provision of medicines is covered by insurance, reducing long treatment and surgery queues in hospitals, the application of treatment and surgery opportunities in private clinics with insurance, and etc. were touched upon.
At the end, the participants' questions were answered, and examples of the practical application of the compulsory health insurance system were discussed.
