The next meeting of the Scientific Council has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU).

Rector of BEU, Professor Havar Mammadov congratulated the participants on December 31 – World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and New Year.

Noting that 2021 was a successful year for Azerbaijan, the Rector of the University said that the results of the historic victory the country achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War were further strengthened, all the tasks facing the country were successfully fulfilled under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Emphasizing the important measures taken in the field of education in 2021 with the attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, Havar Mammadov added that the relevant decrees signed this month strengthen the social protection of scientists, teachers and students.

Touching upon that a number of innovations were applied at BEU during the year, Havar Mammadov stressed measures taken to improve the quality of education, strengthen scientific activity, develop human resources and further improve the working conditions of teachers. The Rector said that in the current pandemic situation, the organization of students' education was in the center of special attention, and the educational process was organized at a high level.

Later, reports entitled “Organization of teaching, scientific research and educational works at the Education Faculty” by assoc.prof. Elshad Abdullayev, the Dean of the Education Faculty, and “The state of staff training on the dual degree program” by assoc.prof. Manafaddin Namazov, Vice-Rector for International Relations, were listened to.  

Moreover, the views of the members of the Scientific Council, the heads of relevant structures on education about the reports, as well as about various issues on the agenda were heard, relevant decisions were made, and concerning instructions were given to the heads of structures.

At the meeting of the Scientific Council, it was also decided to increase the salaries of BEU employees.
