International Scientometric Database Training Sessions Held at BEU

Training sessions on "Methods of Preparing Scientific Articles for Scientometric Databases" have been organized for faculty members at Baku Engineering University (BEU) to support the quality of scientific activities.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Aghasi Malikov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at BEU, emphasized that the engagement of teachers in scientific activities in the higher education system remains constantly relevant. He stated that stimulating scientific creativity at universities and ensuring sustainable development in this direction is one of the main priorities. The Vice-Rector noted that in recent years, consistent measures have been implemented at BEU to improve the quality of scientific activities. As a result, the number of articles published by university staff in prestigious international scientometric databases has increased significantly. Aghasi Malikov drew attention to the importance of the training sessions, stating that they contribute to young researchers conducting research in accordance with international standards, effectively presenting their scientific results, and overall strengthening BEU's position.

The training sessions were conducted by Professor Islam Islamov from BEU's Department of Automation, Telecommunications and Energy. The professor provided participants with detailed information about scientometric databases, methodology for writing scientific articles, proper structuring, and stages of submission for publication. He also discussed types of scientific publications, quality indicators, and criteria for selecting journals, offering practical advice on searching for appropriate journals in the Scopus database. It was emphasized that publishing articles in international scientometric databases not only enhances the researcher's individual scientific reputation but also positively impacts the university's international ranking indicators.

During the training sessions, which continued in an interactive format, participants' questions were clarified.

The training sessions were conducted in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
