An info session on the World Robotics Championship (WRC) has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) under the organization of the Technopark.
Attending the event, Abdulkhalig Jabrayil, the curator of the WRC for Azerbaijan, provided detailed information about the competition to BEU students. He noted that the WRC is a global tournament organized for participants aged 8-30 to demonstrate their talents in the field of robotics. The championship provides young engineers with significant opportunities to experience the cutting edge of technology, develop creative thinking and teamwork. It was noted that the competition is held annually in various robotics categories - Bots Combat (competition of remote-controlled combat robots), RC Craft (competitions on the design and control of flying vehicles), Drone Racing & Drone Soccer (speed and skill-based drone competitions), RoboSoccer (competition of robot football teams), Fastest Line Follower (competition of autonomous line-following robots).
During the session, it was announced that the Azerbaijani final stage of the competition will be held in the city of Khankendi on June 7-8, 2025, and the winning teams will have the opportunity to compete with teams from different countries of the world in India on August 24-27. It was added that the training and preparation process will be organized in February-May, as well as the participants will be supported by experts from the WRC committee.
