Baku Engineering University (BEU) student admission plan for the 2024/2025 academic year at the bachelor's and master's levels, as well as the plan places for the MBA (Business Management) program, have been approved.
Compared to previous years, significant changes and innovations have been reflected in the admission plan. These changes are reflected in the dynamics of student enrollment and increase in the number of specialties at both levels of education, as well as in the organization of correspondence education for the first time at the bachelor's level.
Thus, a total of 2285 plan places have been allocated in 36 majors at the bachelor's level of BEU. Of them, 1,540 places are intended for the Azerbaijani section (full-time), 220 places for part-time education, and 525 places for the English section (full-time) (https://beu.edu.az/az/page/bakalavr-tehsili-182/).
Out of 215 places allocated for 20 specializations and 28 specializations at the master's level of the higher educational institution, 173 are allocated to Azerbaijan and 42 to the English section (https://beu.edu.az/az/page/magistratura-ixtisaslar-159/).
In the MBA program of BEU, 270 places are planned for 13 specializations. According to the program, 240 places are reserved for Azerbaijan and 30 places for the English section.
Among the 7 new majors added to the admission plan at the bachelor's level are "Biotechnology", "Physics", "Chemistry", "Mathematics", "Transportation Engineering", "Food Engineering" and "Winemaking". As for the places allocated to new specialties, 30 places are planned for each of the "Physics", "Chemistry", and "Mathematics" specialties provided in the form of formal education of the English department. 40 places for "Biotechnology" major, 30 places for "Transportation engineering" and "Food engineering" majors have been allocated in Azerbaijan section.
50 and 20 places are planned for the "Winemaking" specialty, which will be taught in the form of full-time and part-time education of the Azerbaijan branch, respectively.
New directions at the master's level include 1 specialization, 2 specializations, "Electronics, telecommunications and radio engineering" specialization, "Networks, communication systems and information distribution", "Casting and welding production machinery and equipment" specializations. Both specialization and specialization 5 plan places are planned only in the Azerbaijan section for the new "Electronics, telecommunications and radio engineering" specialization (Networks, communication systems and information distribution specialization), as well as "Machine and equipment of casting and welding production" specialization, which belongs to the "Mechanical engineering" specialization.
It should be noted that the competition in English-language majors at the bachelor's level is held jointly in Azerbaijani and Russian divisions. There is no aptitude test for "Architecture" and "Design" specialties.
