Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted an event dedicated to the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The memory of the Great Leader was commemorated with a minute of silence, afterwards a video about Heydar Aliyev’s life and legacy was demonstrated at the event held jointly with the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) BEU Territorial First Party Organization.

Speaking at the conference, BEU Rector, Professor Havar Mammadov spoke in detail about the multifaceted activities of the founder and architect of the independent state of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev.  

Rector mentioned that in the period when the National Leader led Azerbaijan he saved our people from harsh and hard experiences of the time, and revival occured in all the spheres of the people’s socio-political, also cultural life. 

Havar Mammadov emphasized that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev who came back to political power for the second time after the insisting demands of Azerbaijani people saved the country from the threat of civil war. Touching upon the fact that strong internal socio-political stability was achieved thanks to Heydar Aliyev’s profound life and management experience, determination and farsightedness, rector underlined the National Leader’s activities in the fields of economy, army building, science, education etc.

Rector who said that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev founded today’s mighty Azerbaijan remarked that in the 18-year presidency of Ilham Aliyev, the honoured political successor of the National Leader our country went through a rapid path of development and the bright victory we won in the 44-day Patriotic War stood on the top of the spectacular achievements attained in this period. Reminding of the ideas of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev “Ilham Aliyev will complete the fateful issues and plans that I couldn’t with your help and support”, Havar Mammadov underscored that Azerbaijani people witnessed the reality of this historical statement once more. Rector added that number one duty on the agenda of the independent state of Azerbaijan was fulfilled as a result of the end of the occupation that lasted over 30 years under the leadership of the victorious Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev and the path of the development founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev will be further continued successfully.

Zahid Oruj, MP at Milli Majlis, chairman of the Board of the Center for Social Studies delivered a speech reflecting the historical figure Heydar Aliyev’s services before the Azerbaijani people and statehood. Highlighting that Heydar Aliyev is a world-wide politican, MP listed the peculiarities of his great leadership. Talking about the historical facts and examples showcasing the Great Leader’s dedication to Motherland and his being with ordinary people, Z. Oruj accentuated that Heydar Aliyev’s policy stood in the ground of our being a winner people and our historical victory.

Bayram Husenyzade, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs and the chair of BEU Territorial First Party Organization stressed separate directions of the multilateral legacy of Heydar Aliyev, historical figure who had a great role in the whole history of the mankind. Mentioning that a new page opened in the Azerbaijani history upon Heydar Aliev’s coming to the political power once again, Vice-Rector highlighted that the Great Leader took measures for the salvation of our country in the early 1990s, and the prominent person professionally saved the Azerbaijani state and people from the hardest situations of the time during his second period of power in our Republic. B. Huseynzade who mentioned that today our country has found its voice and become a powerful and winner state in the world stated that the state of Azerbaijan will live forever till eternity, as the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev mentioned.

Rayakhanim Aghazade, the chair of Baku Engineering University Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) noted that the formation and implementation of the state policy concerning the youth in our country is regarded with the name of Heydar Aliyev. She mentioned that the National Leader always demonstrated his attention and care towards the youth, also stressed the important steps of the genius leader aimed at the formation of the Azerbaijani youth.
