Chairman of the Women's Council of Baku Engineering University (BEU), Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Atraba Gul has attended the presentation of the documentary "“Ölüm hökmü-ömürlük cəza"(Death penalty - life sentence) prepared by “Objective” Public Union for Support of National Values. The film was dedicated to the memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who abolished the death penalty in Azerbaijan.

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva spoke about the importance of the event. She stated that complex policy was founded by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the field of ensuring human rights and freedoms and punishment-execution policy just as in all the fields of public life.

State management's being modernized which was successfully carried on by President Ilham Aliyev and the measures taken in the area of court-law reforms, conforming the activity related to the implementation of the punishments according to the requirements of the period and organization of the favourable management, numerous amnesty initiatives were underlined at the event.

After the speeches, the film was viewed.

It should be noted that the documentary was made with the financial support of the Council on State Support to NGOs under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
