A ceremony was held to honor Azerbaijani universities featured in the "QS 2026" global ranking.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education Ulkar Sattarova, leadership of leading universities, and Sergey Khristolyubov, Regional Director of the QS agency.
Following the ceremony, Sergey Khristolyubov visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).
During the meeting aimed at further expanding cooperation, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev emphasized the importance of the university's participation in international rankings. He also provided information about significant steps taken in recent years to strengthen the higher education institution's scientific potential, reconstruct infrastructure, align education and management with modern standards, enhance international relations, and ensure global recognition of quality indicators. Yagub Piriyev noted that cooperation with a prestigious international ranking organization such as QS makes an important contribution to the university's international recognition and integration into the global academic environment.
In his remarks, Sergey Khristolyubov provided detailed information about the QS ranking system criteria, new evaluation models, and mechanisms applied to enhance universities' recognition at the international level. He highly praised BEU's development strategy and exchanged views on future cooperation prospects.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on BEU's significant progress in the new ranking list of world universities (QS World University Rankings 2026) and its placement in the world's TOP thousand. Sergey Khristolyubov highlighted that BEU received the appropriate award for being featured in the "QS 2026" global ranking, once again congratulated the university leadership on this important achievement, and wished the team success.
