Project of BEU-INHA DDP students awarded 2nd place

Students of the dual degree program (BEU-INHA DDP) implemented between Baku Engineering University and INHA University of the Republic of Korea have achieved successful results at the exhibition titled “Sustainable Expo: Art and Innovation for the Planet” held at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

At the event organized within the framework of Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025), the “Greenscan” project presented by Nazrin Nurullayeva (project leader) and Mahammad Sharbatov, BEU-INHA DDP 3rd year students majoring in the “Electrical Engineering”  was awarded the 2nd place.

The main goal of the event was to encourage projects implemented by young people in the fight against the climate crisis through creativity, innovation and artistic expression, as well as to support their active participation in solving environmental problems.

The “Greenscan” project of BEU-INHA DDP students, which was met with interest by the exhibition participants, was presented as a technological solution to the problem of reduced productivity in agriculture and economic losses suffered by farmers as a result of the impact of rotten fruits and vegetables on healthy crops. According to the solution mechanism, fields equipped with multispectral sensors are scanned from the air. The sensors distinguish healthy and rotten crops, and the results are presented to farmers via a mobile application. The project has significant advantages in terms of saving time, labor, and minimizing crop losses.

This success of the university students is an indicator of their innovative thinking, technological creativity, and ability to apply scientific knowledge in practice. The achieved result is also a clear example of BEU support for promoting sustainable solutions to climate change among students.
