Closing Ceremony of Seminar Held at BEU with Participation of Chinese Doctoral Students

The visit to our country of 32 doctoral students from the People's Republic of China, as well as faculty members, has concluded within the framework of cooperation between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT).  

During the three-day visit, an international scientific-practical seminar was organized on the topic "Impact of Engineering Applications on Sustainable Development Goals." The guests also conducted visits to a number of higher education institutions and organizations.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the seminar, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev stated that the sincere friendship established between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping has created a solid foundation for the expansion of cooperation between our countries in all fields, including science and education. He also expressed confidence that as a result of this friendship, mutual academic relations, joint research, and student exchanges will further increase. Yagub Piriyev described the dual degree program implemented by BEU and BUCT starting this year as a clear example of friendship and trust between the two countries in the field of science and education. He noted that the organized scientific seminar is not only an exchange of knowledge and experience, but also the foundation for new joint research and projects. The Rector stated that the opportunities created for young scientists will facilitate their more active participation in the international scientific community. He also thanked the Chinese doctoral students and expressed his pleasure at seeing them again at BEU. 

Professor Yu Yuen evaluated the seminar as a very valuable experience exchange in terms of aligning engineering sciences with sustainable development goals. He noted that the visit was significant for doctoral students not only in terms of scientific knowledge, but also in terms of acquaintance with Azerbaijani culture and hospitality. The BUCT official emphasized his confidence that cooperation with BEU will further develop and drew attention to concrete projects in this direction.

In her speech, BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul emphasized that the visit of Chinese doctoral students to our country is a practical result of inter-university cooperation and an indicator of mutual trust. She added that the projects implemented by BEU with international partners open new opportunities for young researchers and contribute to the development of their scientific activities on a global scale. The Vice-Rector also expressed her gratitude to the parties that cooperated in the successful organization of the visit.

Subsequently, doctoral students participating in the seminar delivered speeches. In their remarks, the doctoral students expressed their gratitude for the high-level organization of the event and emphasized that the experience gained will have a significant impact on their scientific activities. They thanked the Azerbaijani people for their hospitality, cultural richness, and BEU's cordial academic environment, expressing their wish for such scientific cooperation to continue in the future.

Following the speeches, certificates were presented to seminar participants.

At the end, national dance performances presented by BEU's student amateur collective were received with interest by the guests.
