BEU teams achieve success in regional stage of the 50th ICPC competition

Two teams from Baku Engineering University (BEU) have won the Azerbaijan regional stage of the “50th ICPC-International Collegiate Programming Contest”. 

The Azerbaijan regional stage of the competition was held at Azerbaijan Technical University with the organization of the ICPC Azerbaijan Community, ADA University and the partnership of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency.

52 teams (each consisting of three students and one team leader) from 20 higher education institutions of Azerbaijan, as well as 3 teams consisting of schoolchildren, participated in the competition.

The teams were tasked with solving 12 algorithmic problems in C++, Java or Python programming languages ​​within 5 hours and testing these solutions in an automatic evaluation system.

Based on the results, 21 teams, including 2 teams from BEU, have qualified to participate in the semi-finals of the “50th ICPC-International Collegiate Programming Contest” and the South Caucasus Open Championship (in team and individual categories) to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, on December 15-17, 2025.

As part of the event, Ali Hasanov, the senior lecturer of the Department of Information Technologies and Programming, was awarded the “Exemplary Communication with the ICPC Global Community” award by the ICPC Foundation.
