The project “The Bioplastic” of Baku Engineering University (BEU) students has been among the winners of the program implemented by the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal under the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC).
The project of the team consisting of Mirsadiq Miriyev, Eltun Agabalayev, Mahammad Guliyev and Orkhan Ahmadzadeh, 2nd year students of the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Engineering, acting as a startup resident of the BEU Technopark, on the development of biodegradable and environmentally friendly alternative materials, won in the field of green technologies.
The winners were awarded within the framework of the “Demo-Day” event, which covers the final stage of the “Green and Digital Silk Road” international acceleration program as part of the “Startup School 3” project. At the event, which took place at the Azerbaijan Innovation Center, more than 30 startup teams presented their projects in green energy, digital technologies, medicine, agrarian innovations, artificial intelligence and other fields. Among the 7 best startups selected after evaluating their innovativeness and application potential, 3 were declared winners.
In the official part of the event, Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC, Bahar Muradova, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Affairs, Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, and Javid Abdullayev, Director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency, spoke and shared their views on the development of the innovation environment and support for startups.
