Head of the Department of Social Sciences of Baku Engineering University (BEU), Associate Professor Bilal Dedayev has taken part in “International Symposium on Yavuz Sultan Selim and His Era” held by the Turkish Historical Society and Istanbul University in Istanbul.

At the symposium, which was attended by 54 historians from 7 countries, B. Dadayev made a report entitled "Letters sent by Sultan Selim to the people of Tabriz immediately after the Battle of Chaldiran." The report, prepared on the basis of archival documents of the period, examines when, for what purposes and to whom the letters sent by Sultan Salim were addressed.

The three-day international event ended with a walk to the Topkapi Palace.
