The "Support for Disabled Entrepreneurs" project has been launched to integrate people with disabilities and vulnerable social groups into society and promote social entrepreneurship.
The project is implemented jointly by the State Employment Service and DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA), Baku Engineering University (BEU), Azersu OJSC, FORIELLA LLC and “Organization of Disabled Entrepreneurs” Public Union. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed among the organizations within the project.
Chairman of the Management Board of SMBDA Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population Mustafa Abbasbeyli, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for Labour and Social Policy Musa Guliyev, and Chairman of “Organization of Disabled Entrepreneurs” Public Union Mirza Mammadvaliyev expressed their views on the project. They stressed that the project, which would play an important role in the integration of people with disabilities and vulnerable social groups into society, would also support the development of social entrepreneurship and new business initiatives.
According to the document, people with disabilities and interested in entrepreneurship will gain professional knowledge in the field of carpet weaving, tailoring, photo and video operator, repair of household and electronic equipment. Thus, the project partners will provide vocational training, business plan development, business management and development consulting services for the participants.
Those who successfully complete the training will be provided with appropriate equipment by the State Employment Service within the self-employment program.
