Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted a festive event dedicated to December 31 - World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year.
Speaking at the event, BEU Rector, Professor Havar Mammadov stressed the importance of Solidarity Day. Reminding that the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day was declared by the Decree signed by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in 1993, the rector said that this holiday was a holiday of all Azerbaijanis that are over 50 million in the world. Adding that the First Congress of World Azerbaijanis was held at the initiative of the National Leader, and the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora was established by his order, H.Mammadov stressed that the policy of the Great Leader, as well as his ideas on the diaspora were resolutely being implemented by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
H.Mammadov said that 2019 was a successful year for Azerbaijan, and as a result of President Ilham Aliyev's concept of perfect reforms based on modern approaches, serious successes were achieved in both domestic and foreign policies. Noting the reforms implemented during the year, the rector said that 2019 would go down in history as the next bright page of our era of sustainable development. Noting that as in other areas, serious achievements were made in the field of education during the year, Havar Mammadov also stressed the increase in teachers' salaries and student scholarships.
H.Mammadov touched upon the achievements of the University's faculty and students in 2019. At the end of his speech, the rector congratulated the University staff on the holiday and conveyed his kind words.
Afterwards, under the organization of Creative Arts Department, songs performed, dances and scenes were demonstrated at the event by students.
