A scientific seminar on “Optimization of chemical and mechanical properties of steel” has been held at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Mahir Bashirov, acting head of the department, drew attention to the work done to strengthen scientific research at the university and touched upon the importance of today's seminar.
Later, Imamverdi Behbudlu, a doctoral student of the Materials Technology Department, presented his report entitled “Oxygen removal kinetics and thermodynamic equilibrium modeling during vacuum refining of 34CrMo4, 40CrMo4 and 42CrMo4 steels”.
The doctoral student of the department mentioned the relevance of using the chemical composition and mechanical parameters of steel types in important industrial applications. The report also noted the effect of alloy elements on oxygen removal kinetics, the importance of Gibbs energy, issues of optimizing thermodynamic equilibrium conditions, as well as the wide application possibilities of this research results in areas such as automobile and aviation.
The seminar ended with discussions around the report.
