A scientific seminar dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev has been jointly organized by the Baku Engineering University (BEU) Department of Social Sciences and the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) Department of Organization of Social Sciences Education.

At the event, held in an online format with the participation of teachers and students of both universities, a video clip about the life and activities of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was first demonstrated.

Later, making an opening speech, UNEC Director of the Department of Organization of Social Sciences Education, Associate Professor Gulnara Rzayeva stated that the joint seminar served to expand cooperation between higher education institutions, emphasizing that it was not a coincidence that the first joint event was held in connection with the 102nd anniversary of the Great Leader. Noting that the great personality Heydar Aliyev always paid special attention to the development of science and education during his years in political power, G. Rzayeva touched upon the important steps taken by the National Leader in the direction of building schools, opening new universities, providing higher education to Azerbaijani youth abroad, and training professional personnel, as well as the numerous important reforms he implemented. It was also emphasized that this policy is worthily continued by President Ilham Aliyev.

In her speech, Humeyra Mustafayeva, the head of the Social Sciences Department of BEU, recalled the chronology of the years of leadership of the outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan, highlighting the work he did for the welfare, progress, and free and independent life of his people at all times. In particular, the savior mission of the strong leader Heydar Aliyev in our country, which was living in deep chaos, drowning in the clutches of social problems, and facing civil conflict in the early days of independence, was discussed in detail. Owing to the strength of a wise personality, his right and decisive decisions, Azerbaijan became a politically stable country, developed democratically and legally, signed major economic projects, strengthened the international image of our country, cooperation with European structures, and relations with Eastern and Western countries.

UNEC Professor Vakil Hasanov, BEU Professor Shikar Gasimov, Associate Professor Rabil Mehtiyev and other colleagues, referring to historical facts, spoke in detail about the strong statehood, strong economy, the work done by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev for the whole of Azerbaijan, and the sacrifices he made. The speeches also proudly emphasized the commitment of the political successor of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev to the traditions of statehood, the economic growth of Azerbaijan, military successes, important steps taken towards the liberation of our lands from occupation, as well as the rapid construction and improvement works in Karabakh and East Zangezur and the process of returning to the ancestral lands.
