BEU and Pakistani university discuss cooperation

The management team of the NED University of Engineering and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).

During the meeting with the guests, Rector Yagub Piriyev highlighted the material and technical base of BEU, which mainly trains personnel in engineering specialties, as well as its research potential. Emphasizing the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, the Rector touched upon the existing opportunities for further expansion of relations between the higher education institutions of the two countries. Stating that 31 Pakistani citizens are studying at BEU, Yagub Piriyev also spoke extensively about the BEU international relations, especially the cooperation with Pakistani universities, mutual visits, exchange of experience, etc.

Later, the Vice-Rector of NED University of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail provided information about the university he represented. He stated that the university, which is more than a century old, carries out training in more than 100 specialties in addition to engineering, as well as applied fields. Mentioning that 37 bachelor's and master's programs are implemented at the university, and 30 laboratories are operating, the rector highlighted a number of achievements in the field of research. He also added that the old educational institution, which established relations with European universities, was interested in cooperation with BEU, including a proposal to conduct joint research in specific areas.

In his speech, the Head of the Department of Computer and Information Systems Engineering of the university, Director of the National Center in Big Data and Cloud Computing, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Ismayil also called the expansion of cooperation between higher education institutions important in terms of knowledge and experience exchange.

At the end of the meeting, which continued with fruitful discussions on possible directions of cooperation between the two universities, the guests got acquainted with the laboratories of BEU.
