Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Inha University of the Republic of Korea have held a webinar on the dual degree program at the undergraduate level.
The webinar was moderated by Jasarat Valehov, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Education. Saying that the webinar was dedicated to the dual degree program between BEU and Inha University, the head of the sector gave general information about the program.
Nijat Mammadli, head of the Department of Science, Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Ministry of Education, said that State Program on increasing the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023 was approved by the Order of President Ilham Aliyev in 2018. One of the components is the establishment of dual degree programs. N.Mammadli noted that the implementation of the international dual degree program between BEU and Inha University, a prestigious higher education institution in South Korea, began in last academic year. Speaking about the prospects of the program, the head of the department stressed that the graduates of the program would have international experience at the end of their education.
In her speech, Turan Topalova, Head of the Management Group of the State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023, touched upon the issue of financing the program. She also spoke about the employment of graduates and added that the state program would provide support in this direction.
Humay Jafarli, Director General of BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program, thanked the Ministry of Education and the State Program Management Group for organizing the webinar. Speaking in detail about the dual degree program, H. Jafarli spoke about the main advantages of the program. She said that the tuition fees, registration costs, access to teaching materials and electronic information resources, 1-year education in South Korea and 3-week summer school were covered within the State Program. The director of the program also noted that under the dual degree program, students would study 3 academic years at BEU and 1 academic year at Inha University, and at the end would receive two diplomas. Moreover, undergraduate students will have the opportunity to continue their master's and doctoral studies on scholarships in South Kore.

It should be noted that for the 2021/2022 academic year, the bachelor's program, which will be implemented in English for 4 years, envisages the admission of 100 people in the specialties of Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Electrical Engineering, 25 people each.
