A meeting of the Baku Engineering University (BEU) Student Scientific Society (SSS) has been held.
The meeting discussed the organization of scientific activity, the involvement of students in scientific research, as well as the future action plan of the SSS.
Speaking at the event, BEU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Agasi Malikov emphasized that the scientific research activity of students is in the focus of attention of the university administration, noting that the SSS plays an important role in this direction. He mentioned that the main goal of the society is to increase interest in science among students and create conditions for the realization of their innovative ideas. Positively assessing the role of the previous SSS team in the scientific life of the university, the vice-rector pointed out that the meeting will consider the issue of electing a new chairman of the society and expressed his belief that the next team will also be able to successfully establish its activities.
Later, the candidacy of 4th-year student Aysu Jabrayilova for the chairmanship of the SSS was nominated. The speakers noted her active participation in the social and public life of BEU, her qualities as a moderator at official events of the university, as well as her high overall average success rate. At the meeting, 3rd-year student Roya Abuzarova also nominated her candidacy independently.
Both candidates provided information about their educational achievements at BEU, their career goals, and their active participation in the cultural and public life of the university, and made a number of proposals for the organization and improvement of scientific activity, and support for innovative initiatives. Aysu Jabrayilova was elected chair of the SSS with a superior result in the voting.
At the end, Vice-Rector Agasi Malikov wished the new chairman success in her activities and gave the necessary recommendations for the community to play a more active role in the scientific life of the university in the future.
