An article about Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev, one of the prominent representatives of the national bourgeoisie of Azerbaijan entitled “In the footsteps of the unexplored pages of our history: Awarding of H.Z. Tagiyev and Sona khanum the orders of Ottoman Empire” by the head of the Department of Social sciences of Baku Engineering University (BEU), associate professor Bilal Dedayev and associate professor of the same department Khagan Balayev has been published.

The article examined the unknown directions of H.Z. Tagiyev's life and activity to our history.

The awarding of H.Z. Tagiyev and his wife Sona khanum Ottoman orders in Ottoman Empire was almost unknown in our historiography. All these and other interesting points were studied in detail in the article. According to Ottoman archival documents, H.Z.Tagiyev was awarded the 1st degree Order of the Medjidie for his charity for the people of Ottoman Empire, and Sona khanum 2nd degree Order of Charity for her activities in the socio-cultural sphere.
