“V International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers” starts

Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted the opening ceremony of “V International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers” dedicated to the 98th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. 

The conference, traditionally organized every year, was held online due to the current pandemic situation.

The main objective of the conference is to bring together young researchers from different universities, academies and research institutes around the world, share scientific achievements and experiences in this field, as well as to increase the interest of young people in science.

The two-day event also will discuss common problems and make proposals for their solution.

In his opening speech at the event, the Rector of BEU, Professor Havar Mammadov emphasized that scientific revolution in Azerbaijan coincided with the years when National Leader Heydar Aliyev was in power. 

Havar Mammadov stated that 5 new higher education institutions were founded in our country during the Great Leader's leadership of Soviet Azerbaijan.

In general, the number of students studying at university increased from 70,000 to 100,000.

The Rector also mentioned that starting from 1970 with the initiative and efforts of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev 800-900 young students were sent to study at well-known universities every year.

Havar Mammadov noted that this policy pursued in our country for the development of science, education and human capital was successfully carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Emphasizing that science is one of the priorities of state policy, Havar Mammadov talked about the significance of increasing the interest of young people in science in Azerbaijan as well as the responsibilities of higher education institutions in this area.

In his speech, the Rector spoke about the Great Victory achieved during the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev as well as the constructive work implemented in Karabakh. He also stated the active participation of patriotic and educated youth in all these processes.

At the end of his speech the Rector, emphasizing that scientific argumentation was at the center of the reforms implemented in our country, expressed his hope that the discussions at the conference would make a positive contribution to the scientific development and further conveyed his sincere wishes for the event. 

The conference, moderated by Babak Abbasov, Head of the Computer and Information Technology Department, BEU, went on with speeches of other guests.

In the plenary session of the conference, scientific researches were presented on "The problem of car disposal" (Bakhtiyar Namazov-Baku Engineering University), "Wedding, Birth and Funeral Traditions in Tatar and Azerbaijani Turks" (Bushra Kuchuklar-Kars Caucasus University, Turkey), “Optimized Service Placement Techniques for Internet of Things Applications in Fog Computing Framework”(Javid Misirli-Roma Sapienza University, Italy), “Role Of Equity Financing In Innovative Entrepreneurship Ecosystem”(Odiljon Abdurazzakov CBS International Business School Cologne, Germany).

At the same time, the lecture of the senior researcher of the Nizami Ganjavi Center of the Ganja Branch of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Alimukhtar Mukhtarov dedicated to the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" was heard.

The lecture was about the importance of declaring this year as "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" in Azerbaijan with the relevant decree of President Ilham Aliyev.

BEU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov stated that recieving and sending articles for comments as well as dialogues between the author and anonymous reviewer for correction, in general, monitoring of conference proceedings were carried out through the" Electronic Conference Management System".

According to statistics recorded in the electronic system, a total of about 650 articles were submitted to the conference.

 The best 485 of these articles were selected by anonymous reviewers.

Articles were submitted to the conference from England, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Pakistan, Ukraine and about 10 other countries.Young researchers from around 60 universities and institutes from Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, Shamakhi, Guba, Mingachevir, Lankaran, as well as other regions of the country submitted their theses to the conference.The conference continues its work in separate sections, with scientific areas of engineering, architecture and construction, nature, economics, philology, pedagogy, law, history and sociology.The articles selected by the organizing committee and submitted to the conference were published in the form of a two-volume collection of materials and posted on the conference website.
