Two graduates of BEU awarded Presidential award

Graduates of Baku Engineering University (BEU) - Taryel Agazade and Kimyakhanim Bakhishova were among those awarded by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev "On Granting Presidential Awards 2024 for Youth".

According to the decree, Taryel Agazadeh, who is one of the 10 young people who were awarded with special distinction in the fields of science, education, culture, youth policy and work with youth, public and socially oriented activities, innovation and entrepreneurship, graduated from BMU in 2021.

Taryel, a graduate of the University's Faculty of Engineering, majoring in Mechanical Engineering (English), was distinguished by his activity as a student, and even acted as the Azerbaijani representative of many international start-up brands from that period. After graduation, Taryel, who further expanded the scope of his activities, participated in numerous international events and conferences organized in Great Britain, America, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Holland, Hungary, Ukraine, Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey. At the same time, he prepared content for our country in innovation-oriented events such as "Mobile World Congress", "Web Summit", "TechCrunch Disrupt", "Surge Summit", "Digital Bridge 2023", "Money20/20".

In 2020, he won the "Influencer of the Year" nomination of the Azerbaijan Innovation Award, which was established to support local ecosystem players under the motto "Innovative Azerbaijan", and in 2022, the "Ecosystem" award of the "IDDA Awards" innovation competition organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency. 

Taryel Agazadeh, who currently heads the Innovation program of Kapital Bank, is the founder of Tedroid, a media platform in the field of technology, science and startups.

Kimyakhanim Bakhishova, another graduate of BEU who was awarded the presidential award, graduated with honors from the university's Pedagogical Faculty majoring in Physics (English department). In 2019, the BEU graduate, who was admitted to the Radiation Materials Science Department of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, completed her master's degree in 2021 with honors.

Kimyakhanim Bakhishova was successfully represented in a number of international academic events while still a student.

Currently, Kimyakhanim Bakhishova, who is a doctoral student at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education, is the first Azerbaijani student to win the Maria Skadlovskaya-Curie Scholarship Program of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AEBA). From September 19, 2023, she started researching her dissertation work entitled "Development of radiation-resistant selvaric silicon detectors by changing the dimensions of the epitaxial layer and pixels".
