The next meeting of BEU Vice-Rectorate has been held.
At the meeting, BEU Rector, Professor Havar Mammadov stressed the decisive steps taken under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in our country, to protect health and strengthen the social welfare of our people. On behalf of the staff of BEU, the rector thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the agile and thoughtful measures taken.
Then, the issue of online education at BEU during the quarantine period was discussed in detail at the meeting. Rector Havar Mammadov noted that the vast majority of BEU students used the Google Classroom platform and were involved in online learning. He added that syllabi, lesson materials, slides, video materials were uploaded to this platform, video instructions were prepared and posted on Youtube, which would be a methodological aid for organizing and conducting video lessons, and 98% of the taught subjects were organized online.
Noting the results of online classes organized for the third week to ensure the continuity of education, the rector said that 83% of students attended online classes in the first week, 87% in the second week and 88% in the third week. He stressed the importance of provision of education to students who could not join online classes.
The meeting discussed the possible problems, heard the views and suggestions of vice-rectors, deans, heads of departments, heads of relevant structures related to education. During the speeches, they discussed the issues of further improving the quality of online education, assessing students' knowledge, possible preparation for the upcoming exams and other issues. Necessary instructions were given to the heads of relevant departments.
