The rules adopted for the exam hve caused great enthusiasm among the students

The examination session of the spring semester of the 2019/2020 academic year continues at Baku Engineering University (BEU). In the online exam session, students will take exams in a total of 1,016 subjects. Thus, the examination of 623 (61%) subjects will be organized in the form of a frontal survey, and the examination of 393 (39%) subjects will be organized in the form of a test. In addition, 3,500 undergraduate (I, II, III year) students and 228 graduate students (I year) are expected to take the exam.

All technical measures were taken at a high level in order to organize the exams in a transparent and in accordance with existing rules. Taking into account the current situation and the views of students, the rules of the examination session and knowledge assessment were prepared in a timely manner, in coordination with the Ministry of Education on the website of BEU  (http://beu.edu.az/az/article/bmu-da-yaz-imtahan-sessiyasinin-kecirilmesi-ve-biliyin-qiymetlendirilmesi-qaydalari-423) The fact that the students took into account the grades they received in the pre-exam semester activities during the exam caused them great enthusiasm and expressed their gratitude for it.

Exams held on the Google Clasroom platform in the form of an online test are recorded in electronic memory. The topic and sub-topics to which the test items used in the exam belong are conducted on 50 test questions with advance notice to the students, and each test is evaluated with 2 points (100 points in total). In the online test form, students are given 90 minutes.

Exams in the form of online frontal surveys are held on Google Meet or Zoom platforms and recorded in electronic memory. Along with the teacher, one assistant from the department also participates in these exams. During the frontal examination, the examination ticket consisting of 3 questions is automatically assigned through the electronic system on the basis of 30 questions given to the students in advance by the department. Each student is given 20 minutes to answer. During the exam organized in groups of 5 people, when the live connection is cut off due to technical reasons, the break period, the scope of the student's answer, etc., the ticket is re-selected after the connection is restored.

Upon completion of the examinations, both in the form of tests and frontal questionnaires, the student's grade is announced and all exam results are entered into the university's electronic system within 24 hours at the latest..

Students who meet all the requirements of the undergraduate curriculum, as well as those who successfully pass the current attestation, are considered to have passed the final attestation in accordance with the Total Average Achievement Index obtained during their studies. For students who are not satisfied with the assessment of the state exam in this form, state exams are traditionally organized during the current exam session. Thus, graduate students are given the opportunity to choose the form of assessment by conducting an online questionnaire.

The defense of the bachelor's degree and the defense of the master's degree dissertation are traditionally organized at BEU in accordance with the legislation, as well as the rules for the prevention of coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

In addition, a free online re-examination in two subjects will be held during the session for undergraduate students who have academic debts from previous semesters, and a traditional or online re-examination will be held free of charge in for lower course students two subjects between September 7-11.

Last year students who are unable or unsuccessful to take part in the exams for the subjects they are participating in the current semester will be required to take an online re-examination to cancel all academic debts incurred in the current session within one week after the session. Moreover, it is also planned to hold a free traditional or online re-examination for junior students from September 7 to 11 to cancel all academic debts incurred in the current session.

Regardless of participation in online classes, students are given 10 points for attendance, and for the current semester, a student's independent work is assessed with 10 points, intra-semester activity with 30 points, and an exam with 50 points. During the exam, the teacher can accept the intra-semester activity grades of the students as the exam grades at their request and take the exam from the students who do not agree with it. A student who does not have an intra-semester activity score will also receive an intra-semester activity score. An online appeal will be organized for students who are dissatisfied with the results of the exam.

It should be noted that the current exam session, which began on June 8, will last 5 weeks. Students studying in 4 faculties had already passed exams in 155 subjects in 2 days.
