Seminar on accreditation assessment organized at BEU

Distance Education and Quality Assurance Center of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has organized an online seminar of the Education Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA).

The purpose of the seminar was to provide information on the importance and requirements of participation as an expert in the activities of Accreditation Commissions, which would conduct accreditation assessment in accordance with the "Rules for Accreditation of Educational Institutions" approved in the new edition.

BMU teachers took part in the seminar on "The role of experts in accreditation assessment".

Asiman Ilyasov, Head of the Training and Methodology Department of EQAA, made a presentation at the event. Giving information about EQAA, the reporter said that the agency was established by the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 29, 2019.

A.Ilyasov noted that the activities of the agency included accreditation of educational institutions, recognition and recognition of equivalence of foreign specialties in higher education, as well as assessment and recognition of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience gained through non-formal and informal forms of vocational education.

Speaking about the new accreditation rules, the head of the department also touched upon the quality assurance system. He noted that the relevant trainings were organized and certified for individuals selected to "Expert Bank" formed by the agency in order to participate as evaluators in quality assurance processes. Ilyasov also informed the participants about the composition of the commission, the requirements for experts, and the activities of the expert in the commission.

The seminar continued with answering the questions of the participants.
