A seminar on "Ways of preparing articles for prestigious scientific journals" has been held at the English Department of Baku Engineering University (BEU).

Talking about the relevance of the topic, the head of the department, assoc.prof. Narmina Aliyeva emphasized the importance of a series of trainings and seminars held at the university in order to ensure the effective use of international databases such as "Web of Science", "Scopus". Moreover, she noted that the requirements for scientific articles included in these databases, the activity of publications indexed in scientific databases, scientific article publications are useful for academic development as well as for the rating of the higher education institution. N. Aliyeva mentioned that positive opinions were given to the scientific articles of two teachers of the department recently, one of those authors is Ziyafat Huseynova, associate professor of the department, and in this regard, other employees can also benefit from her experience.

Later, Z. Huseynova gave a presentation on the topic. She talked about the difficulties of writing an article in the humanitarian field, planning, attributes of the article, technical details, value for the scientific community and presentation of innovations, coverage of topics of general interest.

The assoc.prof. also explained the importance of paying attention to grammatical and stylistic perfection in the preparation of the article, the reasons for rejecting the article, the positive aspects of using references, the importance of the authors being closely familiar with the announcements made by scientific journals in the last 6 months before the article is prepared, the requirements of the reviewers and other important nuances.

At the event, which continued with a wide exchange of ideas, the speaker answered the questions of the seminar participants.
