A seminar has been held for students studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Baku Engineering University (BEU) with the participation of Oruj Dursunzadeh, Project Manager of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), Andrea Lane and Victoria Brown, trainers at Newcastle University Business School (UK).
Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Mayis Azizov expressed his confidence that the seminar would be useful for students.
At the seminar, O. Dursunzadeh gave detailed information about the "Creative Spark" project. It was noted that the project was being implemented in cooperation with Newcastle University and CAERC. The main goal of the project is to strengthen entrepreneurship and business education in Azerbaijan, support new enterprises created by young entrepreneurs, more effectively master the English language to promote international integration and cooperation. O.Dursunzadeh also touched upon the works done within the project implemented with the support of the British Council. Moreover, the project manager introduced the portal http://enterpriseazerbaijan.com/ to students, provided detailed information about its functionality, as well as new opportunities for young entrepreneurs, ways to access local and foreign markets. He highlighted the benefits of placing projects and startups on the portal, as well as the importance of presenting startups.
Later, the trainer Andrea Lane made a presentation entitled "Business Opportunities and Innovation". She stressed that the opportunity for entrepreneurship was the result of the interrelation of individual desires with the economic and social conditions that were considered favorable for the creation of a new product. The trainer also informed the seminar participants about entrepreneurship opportunities, sources and types of innovation.
At the end, the guests met with the academic staff of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
The meeting focused on the implementation of business and financial projects, organization of joint conferences, student-teacher exchange, and etc. They exchanged views on the issues and discussed prospects for future cooperation.
