On May 31, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of Baku Engineering University (BEU) was held.
The reports “Measures for the preparation for the spring semester exam session and its organized conduct”, “Organization of the Summer School”, “On the financial and economic activities of BEU in 2023” and other issues were discussed at the meeting.
First, the reports of the relevant structural heads were presented. The reports were considered satisfactory taking into account the proposals and recommendations, and appropriate instructions were given to the relevant departments, deaneries and departments.
Later, a number of structural issues were considered. Positive decisions were made on the establishment of the Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies at the university, the abolition of the Departments of Mathematics and Computer and Information Technologies, as well as the establishment of the Departments of Information Technologies and Programming, Cybersecurity and Computer Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science on the basis of the abolished departments within the Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies.
Additions and changes in the structure of the Faculty of Engineering were also discussed. As a result of the discussions, the establishment of the Department of Food and Biotechnology within the Faculty, as well as the renaming of the Department of Logistics and Transport Technologies to the Department of Logistics and Transport, and the transfer of the Departments of Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Physics to the Faculty of Engineering were positively resolved.
The merging of the Departments of English and Foreign Languages within the Faculty of Pedagogy and the renaming of the Department of Foreign Languages, as well as the approval of the structure of the faculties and departments in the form in the Appendix, were also voted on and adopted.
Afterwards, the “Rules on the Rewarding of BEU Employees Whose Articles Are Published in Journals Indexed in the Web of Science and SCOPUS International Scientific Databases”, as well as the “Rules on the Anti-Plagiarism System”, as well as the Regulations of the Scientific Research Center were positively received and approved in the discussions.
At the end, current issues were considered.
