The scientific article co-authored by Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor Shahriyar Mukhtarov, Head of the Department of World Economy at Baku Engineering University (BEU), has been published in the“Energies” journal.

An article“Elasticity Analysis of Fossil Energy Sources for Sustainable Economies: A Case of Gasoline Consumption in Turkey”  published in the journal , which was indexed in reputable databases with an impact factor of 2.7 such as Web of Science and Scopus, described the Turkish economy using various econometric methods analyzed. According to the results of the article, the existence of a long-term cointegration relationship between the variables, as well as income and price are the main factors determining gasoline consumption. In addition, the authors determined the price elasticity of income and demand in the long run. The article also made number of recommendations for economic policy decision-makers based on the results of the study.

It should be noted that in recent years, the number of articles published by BEU staff in prestigious scientific journals has increased significantly, and according to these indicators, the university is one of the leading universities in Azerbaijan.
