Round Table at BEU on the Occasion of September 27 - Remembrance Day

A round table was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) on the occasion of September 27 - Remembrance Day with the participation of faculty and students.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, Head of the General Subjects Department Humeyra Mustafayeva said that September 27 has entered Azerbaijan's modern history as a day of both heroism and respect for the memory of our martyrs. Speaking about the unforgettable courage of our martyrs, she emphasized that thanks to their sacrifice, our lands were liberated from occupation, and our state's territorial integrity and sovereignty were restored. H. Mustafayeva brought to attention that the constant education of the young generation in the spirit of patriotism and their adherence to national and moral values is of great importance for the future development of our state.

During the round table, Turgay Mammadov, a second-year student of BEU's "Electrical and Electronics Engineering" specialty, presented a video project he prepared about the emergence of the Karabakh conflict and the beginning of the Patriotic War. The project extensively covered the path leading to the war, the destruction of myths created by Armenia through the power of our army, the chronicle of military operations, and the glorious Victory achieved as a result of the heroism of martyrs and veterans who sacrificed their lives for the lands.

The speeches highlighted the principled steps taken in national army building during the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev's leadership of the country, and emphasized the important work carried out by President Ilham Aliyev in strengthening our country's military potential. It was stated that as a result of all this, Azerbaijan was able to drive the enemy out of our lands in the 44-day Patriotic War, and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country were fully restored through local anti-terror operations.

At the end, Nijat Hasanli, a second-year student of BEU's Faculty of Engineering, recited an artistic piece dedicated to the martyrs and shared his feelings and emotions about the sublimity of martyrdom.
