The article by Huseyn Mirzayev, dean of Engineering Faculty at Baku Engineering University, PhD. in Technical Sciences, associate professor, has been published in “Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering” impact factor journal, issued in Springer Publishing.
The co-authors of the article "Study of experimental characteristics of vibration in gear mechanisms by Taguchi method" are BEU graduates Anar Khalilov, currently working at SOCAR Absheronneft OJSC, Rashad Valili, a master's student at Polytechnic University of Milan in Italy, and Yusuf Shahin, professor at Nisantasi University in Turkey. The experiments, which were part of extensive research, were conducted in the Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering of BEU under the idea and guidance of Assoc. Prof. H. Mirzayev.
The article analyzed the effect of gear shape and installation errors on gear reducers upon the vibration parameters of the mechanism depending on the speed and torque. The experiments were performed with high accuracy on computer-aided equipment of the German company GUNT. The Taguchi method, a modern method, was used in the design of the experiment and in the mathematical and statistical analysis of the results. The theoretical part of this research is expected to be published in prestigious international journals in the future.
Given the extensive research work, it was planned to conduct experimental and fundamental research in the future to improve the performance of other types of gears and new generation reducers under different conditions.
