Relations established with Chinese universities and companies discussed at BEU

An information event has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) on the results of the university delegation's visit to the People's Republic of China in January of this year. The event discussed cooperation meetings held with well-known universities and companies in the capital Beijing and important agreements reached.

Rector Yagub Piriyev noted that in recent years, BEU has established new cooperation with well-known foreign universities in a number of areas. The Rector stated that the main goal of establishing relations with reputable Chinese universities is to expand the university's international relations, jointly study teaching and scientific experience, and mutually benefit from educational innovations. Yagub Piriyev positively assessed the agreement reached on the implementation of a 2+2 dual degree program with Beijing University of Chemical Technology, which is a leader in China and the world in the specialty "Chemical Engineering", as well as the results of the meetings held at Beijing Polytechnic, Beijing Jiaotong University and Beijing Information Science and Technology University. Emphasizing the discussions held with well-known Chinese companies, the rector expressed his confidence that the established cooperation as a whole would develop further. 

Later, BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul provided general information about the meetings held in Beijing and the agreements reached.

Afterwards, a comprehensive presentation by BEU Head of Science and Innovation Department Mayis Azizov was heard regarding the visit.

The presentation provided detailed information about the agreement with Beijing University of Chemical Technology on the implementation of a dual degree program, as well as agreements reached with Beijing Polytechnic, Beijing Jiaotong University and Beijing Information Science and Technology University. It was noted that preliminary agreements were reached on sending students from the aforementioned college to BEU, as well as cooperation on a dual degree program with Beijing Information Science and Technology University. Moreover, the meeting with BEIFANG Automotive Education Group and discussions on the possibility of the Group establishing a center (lab/hub) at BEU were discussed. It was emphasized that a positive opinion was reached with BEIFANG, which provides master classes and training for students in engineering specialties, both in terms of establishing a center and providing training to teachers.

During the presentation, agreements reached with BAlC, one of the leading enterprises in the Chinese automotive industry, as well as XIMMERS companies were also noted.

Finally, Rector Yagub Piriyev gave recommendations and instructions regarding the main directions of future cooperation. The event ended with a discussion of the next steps and clarification of a number of questions.
