Rector Meets with High-Scoring BEU Admitted Students This Year

A meeting was held with students who were admitted to Baku Engineering University (BEU) with high scores in this year's entrance examinations.

At the meeting, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev congratulated them on their achievements, calling their success not only a result of personal effort, but also a clear example of the attention shown to science and youth by independent Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The Rector noted that this year marks the 5th anniversary of the historic Victory in the Patriotic War, and that the sacrifice of our heroic martyrs and veterans, the authors of the great Victory, and the unity of our people serve as an eternal example for the youth. He stated that the main duty of students is to serve the development of the Motherland in accordance with the spirit of this Victory, and to contribute to the development of our country and its further strengthening with their knowledge and skills.

Yagub Piriyev brought to attention the comprehensive opportunities created at the university for students to develop as competitive specialists, the dual diploma programs implemented with Chinese and South Korean universities, and a number of planned student-oriented innovations. He also evaluated the nearly twofold increase in the number of high-scoring applicants choosing BEU this year, with 395 people scoring above 500 points and 53 people scoring between 600-700 points, as a result of recent reforms and the successes achieved by the higher education institution. "The modern educational process at our university will show that you were not wrong in choosing Baku Engineering University, which entered the world's top thousand in the 'QS 2026 World's Best Universities Rankings' list this year," the rector expressed his confidence.

Speaking about various programs approved by President Ilham Aliyev's relevant orders, as well as the "State Program for Young People's Education at Prestigious Higher Education Institutions in Foreign Countries for 2022-2028," Yagub Piriyev emphasized that hundreds of young people benefit from these programs each year, gaining the opportunity to study at the world's renowned universities. At the same time, noting that BEU graduates are among them, he recommended that students take this positive example as a model for themselves.

During the meeting held in a cordial atmosphere, students shared their thoughts about their educational plans, aspirations and goals. They were given detailed information about the opportunities created at the university, student organizations and clubs, including the chance to participate in international exchange programs, and the startup and innovation centers at BEU Technopark.

In conclusion, the rector wished the students success, stating that every achievement based on science and knowledge would contribute to Azerbaijan's brighter future.
