A meeting has been held with the members and mentors of the teams that won the first place in the "Robotex Türkiye" Championship held in Antalya, Republic of Türkiye at Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Congratulating the winning teams of BEU students ("ROBOXIDE" and "A-MAZE") at the meeting, Rector of the university Yagub Piriyev emphasized the importance of the international competition. The Rector spoke about the demand for professional personnel in robotics, which combines many different fields, as well as other specialties based on information technologies, to which the competition is dedicated. Paying attention to the work done in the direction of training specialists in the field of information technologies, especially cybersecurity, the rector said that he believes that the recently opened Cybersecurity Laboratory at BEU will ensure the development of students' digital knowledge and skills, and will further enrich their skills.
The rector was interested in the state of preparation of the winning teams for the next stage of the competition, which is scheduled to be held in Rome, the capital of Italy, on November 15-16, 2024, as well as the concerns of the students. Pointing out that the students represent not only BEU in international competitions, but our country as a wholeYagub Piriyev gave his instructions and recommendations in this regard.
Later, the mentors of the teams, the senior lecturers of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies of the university Ali Hasanov, Elmaddin Huseynov, students and other participants of the event spoke.
At the end of the meeting, honorary certificates were presented to team members and mentors.
