"Online Career Day" held at BEU

Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Araz supermarket chain have jointly organized an "Online Career Day".

The event was moderated by Nurlan Astanov, an employee of the Department on work with enterprises and career.

Gulchohra Ibrahimova, Director of the Department on work with enterprises and career BEU, gave general information about the department and listed its activities. She noted that the department was in regular contact with enterprises,  delivered announcements about internship programs, vacancies to students and graduates, as well as continuously signed cooperation agreements with enterprises. G.Ibrahimova also noted that various projects, master classes, labor exhibitions, career days were held. She added that the University had a database of graduates and contacts of all graduates were placed in that database. 

Safar Aslanov, head of the public relations department of the Araz supermarket chain, thanked for organizing such an event in a short time. He said that the meeting aimed to inform students about job opportunities, to answer their questions related to the preparation for business life. He gave brief information about the organization he represented. Noting that the organization started operating in 2011, S.Aslanov added several markets were opened every month. He said that the network of the organization is growing. Safar Aslanov emphasized that along with the online career day, master classes will be held in higher education institutions.

Elchin Akbarov, head of the business partnership department of the organization, said that the internship of students was organized in the organization, as well as potential young people were hired during this period. Noting that a small number of students were admitted during the internship due to the current pandemic, E. Akbarov also informed about the projects they would implement.

Rahim Mustafayev, head of the human resource department, spoke about the wide range of work opportunities of the organization. He advised students to master their specialties and be socially active.

Zaur Mahmudov, a leading business partner in human resources, touched upon the points to be considered while preparing a CV, and emphasized the advantages of mentioning social, as well as voluntary activities in the CV during the university years.

Vasif Farajov, a business partnership specialist, said they were always interested in establishing and developing relations with educational institutions. He noted that during the pandemic, preference was given to candidates who could quickly use new technologies and innovations.

At the end, the questions of the participants were answered.
