The “IX International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers” dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, jointly organized by Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the Academy of the State Customs Committee, has started its work.

At the event, the dear memory of our martyrs was first commemorated with a minute of silence, followed by the National Anthem.

Delivering his opening speech, BEU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Agasi Malikov emphasized the importance of the traditionally held scientific conference in order to increase the interest of young people in science. He noted that such conferences are of great importance in terms of sharing the scientific achievements and experiences gained by young researchers, discussing common problems, putting forward proposals for their solutions, as well as international cooperation. The Vice-Rector emphasized that during the leadership of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, significant successes were achieved in the economic, cultural and scientific fields, and special attention was paid to the development of young people. Moreover, he assessed the fact that young people currently occupy a worthy place in the international scientific world as the result of the successful continuation of the visionary policy of the Great Leader by President Ilham Aliyev.

The Vice-Rector noted that researchers from Poland, Georgia, Norway, Pakistan and Russia participated in the international event. He also said that 472 applications were received for the conference, and 357 articles were accepted as a result of the evaluation based on high scientific standards. Agasi Malikov pointed out that the discussions to be held would pave the way for scientific innovations in the future and have a positive impact on the development of our society, wishing success to the work of the conference.

Later, Jamila Namazova, Deputy Head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee for Scientific Affairs, said that it was gratifying that young researchers showed great interest in the international conference. She spoke in detail about the purposeful state policy implemented by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to develop science and education and increase the scientific potential of young people during all the periods when he led Azerbaijan. She also mentioned the achievements in science as a result of the successful continuation of this policy by President Ilham Aliyev. Furthermore, she noted that the tradition of studying abroad, founded by the National Leader, has provided our country with professional personnel, and as a result of the state programs currently being implemented in this direction, young people have contributed to the development of Azerbaijan by becoming highly qualified specialists in prestigious foreign higher education institutions. At the end of her speech, Jamila Namazova added that the conference was a successful platform for employees working in both local and foreign universities, academies, and research institutes to present their research and promote their scientific achievements.

Afterwards, the plenary session of the conference began. The scientific reports of Ertugrul Gayibov, a teacher of the Department of Information Technologies and Programming of BEU, and Elnur Najiyev, a senior teacher of the Department of Social Sciences, were heard at the session.
