The textbook "General physics course" co-authored by associate professor Razim Bayramli, head of the Physics Department of Baku Engineering University (BEU), has been published.
The book was compiled on the basis of the educational program for engineering specialties, as well as the subject programs "Physics" and "Fundamentals of Physics" for undergraduate training approved by the relevant order of the Ministry of Science and Education.
In the textbook published by the relevant decision of the Teaching and Methodological Council of BEU (taking into account the changes in the hours of physics taught in higher schools), the teaching material is contained in a more concise manner while keeping the essence of the lecture texts. This is aimed at freeing students from having to outline various topics.
The material is written with minimal use of higher mathematics equipment, taking advantage of table formulas, simple derivatives and integrals. The book, which focuses on the physical nature of the studied phenomena, also refrains from historical summaries and extensive interpretation of physical measurement methods. In addition, the textbook contains the basics of mechanics, molecular physics, electricity and magnetism, optics, as well as atomic and atomic nucleus sections of the general physics course.
The material can be useful for students of other universities where physics is taught, as well as teachers of preparatory courses, masters and young researchers working in this field.
