A presentation of the project “What is SYO?” has been held for first-year students at Baku Engineering University (BEU) organized by the Student Youth Organization (SYO).
At the presentation, BEU SYO Chairman Janel Khalilov spoke about the wide opportunities opened up for young people by the organization, which operates in the direction of protecting students’ rights and effectively organizing their free time.
Fidan Hasanova, press secretary of the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Union (ASYOU), brought information about the mission of youth organizations, their work, and various events to the attention of students. She noted that the goal of the union is to help develop education in higher and secondary specialized schools, represent and defend the interests of students, and create conditions for their active participation in the public, cultural, and socio-economic life of the republic.
Later, Zamina Akhundova, Head of the Department of Artistic Creativity at BEU, Doctor of Philosophy in Art History, noted that university life is not limited to academic activities alone, but that there are all kinds of conditions here for students to reveal their talents and unleash their creative potential. She called on young people to develop themselves in artistic clubs and participate in various art competitions.
The event, which continued with the artistic part, featured an interesting dance number by the BEU amateur dance collective, a short performance by members of the Theater Studio on the theme of family and school, as well as a solo dance by students Nazrin Osmanova and a performance by Ali Shukur on the tar. The Azerbaijani song “Let’s give a greeting” performed by BEU student and Sudanese citizen Muhammed Musa was met with great applause in the hall.
The event ended with a performance by the “Aynaband” group.
