The presentation of the book "Ancient Albanian Path" and the website albanyolu.az created by the senior lecturer of the Department of Social Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy in History Elnur Najiyev and the founder of the "Azerbaijan Mountain Guide" company Babak Isgandarov, has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU).
First, the university vice-rector for science and innovation Agasi Malikov evaluated the book as an interesting and new research from the point of view of combining history and tourism. Moreover, it was brought to attention that by embarking on a long journey through the territory of our country and deeply exploring the traces of our ancient history, the authors have created a valuable source for today's and future generations.
In her speech, the head of the Department of Social Sciences Humeyra Mustafayeva noted that shedding light on the ancient material and cultural monuments of our country is always a difficult and honorable mission facing historians, congratulating the authors, and expressing her belief that the book would be useful for young people and all history lovers.
Later, the authors provided detailed information on how the book was created. It was noted that the “Ancient Albanian Path” project was launched as a product of the work of a mountaineer and a historian, and the project covered a large journey extending from Balakan, Gakh, Zagatala, Sheki, Oghuz, Gabala, as well as the foothills of Shahdag to Gusar and Khinalig in Azerbaijan. During this journey, examples of ancient Albanian culture were examined, and the traces of Christianity in Azerbaijan were studied with concrete facts. The presentation noted that the historical facts included in the book once again confirmed that Armenians were purposefully settled in the territories of Azerbaijan by Tsarist Russia, and that they fraudulently claimed Albanian culture.
At the end, the authors noted that future travel and research would be on the roads to Georgia, as well as Derbent.
