A meeting of the academic staff and students with the delegation of the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) of the People's Republic of China has been organized at Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Rector Yagub Piriyev stated that the meeting was held within the framework of the double degree agreement signed between BEU and BUCT in the specialties of Chemical, Computer and Mechanical Engineering, expressing his confidence that the information about the university would be important for students wanting to continue their education in China for the remaining two years.
Later, the chairman of the School of International Education of BUCT Li Qifang made a presentation. He noted that the higher education institution, established in 1958, has a faculty of 2,700 and 28,670 students. The university, which has 17 colleges and schools, is located on three main campuses and offers education in economics, management, engineering, law, as well as other humanitarian fields. BUCT, which cooperates with 63 universities from 170 countries around the world, offers a wide range of opportunities for studying in English and programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. The presentation also revealed the leading positions of the university in the world rankings in various aspects, as well as information about international student dynamics, programs organized for foreign students, summer schools, projects, and language courses. BUCT practical cooperation with more than 100 enterprises, as well as the university's research priorities and the extensive capabilities of its laboratories, which play an important role in engineering and technological research, were highlighted.
Following the presentation, the questions of the students who are eligible to study in China for the remaining two years of their studies under the double degree program to be implemented between BEU and BUCT were answered. Moreover, they were given a number of necessary recommendations.
After the meeting, the BUCT delegation got acquainted with the BEU campus and laboratories.
