Baku Engineering University has hosted a seminar entitled “Poetic discussion dedicated to the 140th anniversart of Mahammad Hadi”. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature of BEU and Youth Council of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers.

Dean of Education Faculty, assoc.prof. Elshad Abdullayev noted the importance of the event dedicated to Mahammad Hadi, who played a significant role in the development of romanticism in the 20th century Azerbaijani literature.

Emphasizing the significance of such events, assoc.prof. Emin Agayev, Head of Azerbaijani Laguage and Literature Department,  highly appreciated the initiative of young poets.

In their speeches, Ulvi Babayev, senior lecturer of the Department, and prof. Akif Huseynli pointed out that youth were interested in M.Hadi’s creativity.  Moreover, speakers talk about the life of Mahammad Hadi, and main directions of his creativity.

Chairman of the Youth Council of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers, young poet Farid Husseyn stressed the importance of Presidential Order on the celebration of the 140th anniversary of M.Hadi. He added that this would create an opportunity to re-understand the poet's creativity and write new works about him.

Gunel Shamilgizi, Zaur Rakhshan, Fuad Jafarov, and Ravan Javid, Young poets participating in the event, emphasized that M. Hadi embodied Eastern and European literature and philosophy in his poems.

The seminar concluded with discussions.

It should be noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan  Ilham Aliyev signed an Order “On the celebration of the 140th anniversary of Mahammad Hadi” on December 5,2019.
