Baku Engineering University (BEU) has organized a Novruz celebration called "This is another spring".

Speaking at the event with the participation of the university administration and teaching-student staff, BEU rector Yagub Piriyev conveyed his most sincere congratulations to the collective on the occasion of Novruz holiday, which preserves the richness of the national and spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people and the centuries-old past.

The Rector emphasized that Novruz, which National Leader Heydar Aliyev called the most prestigious state holiday of independent Azerbaijan, is celebrated today by our people with greater enthusiasm, and that this year's arrival of the holiday is of great significance for our Motherland and has a special symbolic meaning. He noted that after the full restoration of our sovereignty under the leadership of the Victorious  Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, the burning of Novruz bonfires in Khankendi, Khojaly, Askeran, Khojavand, Aghdara, like other corners of our native Karabakh, has become a reality today. The Rector said that the holiday spirit is experienced with a sense of pride in our united lands and added that the spirit of all our martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country is happy.

Adding that this holy holiday, which gives rise to new dreams and new hopes in people, is a symbol of peace and solidarity, Yagub Piriyev expressed his confidence that Azerbaijan, which has become a voice in the regional and global geopolitical space with the large-scale activities of President, will become even more powerful in the coming new era.

Later, the rector lit the holiday bonfire, which is a symbol of Novruz.

The holiday celebration around the celebrated bonfire continued with a concert program prepared by the university's Art Department. Scenes reflecting our ancient traditions related to Novruz, ancient folk-ceremonial dances performed with the participation of students, various dance numbers, performances of BEU employees were greeted with applause by the participants.
