The next events have taken place in two more faculties (Engineering, Architecture and Construction) of Baku Engineering University (BEU) within the "Science Week".
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of BEU, Associate Professor Huseyn Mirzayev gave general information about the departments, specialties and staff potential of the faculty.
Touching upon the activities in the field of scientific research, the dean considered publication of scientific works in journals important and stressed the significance of holding monthly scientific seminars within the faculty. H.Mirzayev noted that 18 articles and 27 conference materials were prepared by the academic staff last year. He spoke about the participation of faculty members in both local and international conferences. Among them were the “8th International Conference on Fracture Fatugie and Wear (FFW 2020)” at the Ghent University(Belgium), “the 6th International Conference on Engineering, Architecture and Design”, "IV International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers" dedicated to the 97th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, "The role of engineering in the innovative development of Azerbaijan: goals and prospects".
BEU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov said that the research work was sustainable, responsible and important. He called on the faculty to be active in research.
E.Suleymanov noted that last year, for the first time, the Ministry of Education announced a competition for a master's program in cyber security specialty, and the Department of Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of BEU was selected at the grant competition. Touching upon the dual degree program with Inha University, the Vice-Rector said that most of the specialties included in the program cover the Faculty of Engineering. He also noted the possibility of gaining some joint research opportunities with Inha University.
At the next event held as part of the "Science Week", the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction of BMU, Associate Professor Afar Alifov said that research work was important and it had a great impact on education. He noted that the field of engineering was mainly related to practice and research.
Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs of the Faculty Vugar Muradov gave detailed information about the staff potential of the faculty, the number of students, specialties taught and research areas of the departments.
V.Muradov added that 4 textbooks and 16 methodical aids were prepared by the faculty staff last year. He noted that 22 articles were published at the faculty, 11 in the country and 11 abroad, 9 of which were published in impact factor journals.
The Deputy Dean emphasized the active participation of faculty members in "IV International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers" dedicated to the 97th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and "The role of engineering in the innovative development of Azerbaijan: goals and prospects" conferences. In his speech, he touched upon the active work of SSS. He also added that BEU's dual degree program with Inha University includes the faculty's specialty in Civil Engineering.
At the end of the event, E. Suleymanov informed the participants about the rules and procedures for awarding BEU employees, whose articles were published in prestigious scientific publications. Moreover, he was trained on the effective use of Web of Science and Scopus databases, as well as the creation of an individual researcher profile.
