A meeting of the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has been held.

Speaking at the meeting, BEU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations Bayram Huseynzada spoke about the successful youth policy implemented by the state and the responsibilities of students, the most active segment of society, in the new stage of development that victorious Azerbaijan has entered.

In his speech, the Vice-Rector noted that the STUC's activities in the past period were successful, emphasizing that the collective had shown great trust in the head of the committee Laman Sharifova and elected her as the chair of the BEU Trade Union Committee. Noting that the issue of electing a new chairman would be considered at today's meeting, Bayram Huseynzade expressed his belief that the STUC would continue to actively build its work.

Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Azerbaijan Education Workers' Free Trade Union Republican Committee (ATIAHI) Mirza Jafarzada presented the work done by the organization he represents for the development of youth and the innovations to be implemented this year. Listing the measures implemented for the organization of education, socio-cultural, and leisure time, Mirza Jafarzada also noted that the number of students awarded the "Named Scholarship" by the union has significantly increased this year and there were students who received this scholarship among those attending the meeting. The Deputy Chairman also spoke about the responsibilities of the STUC in carrying out work related to youth in the new period. 

Later, the Deputy Chairman of the STUC, 3rd year student Ali Huseynov was nominated for the presidency of the organization. The speakers emphasized his experience in this field and his activity in the social and public life of the university. According to the results of the vote, Ali Huseynov was elected the new chairman of the STUC.

At the end, Vice-Rector Bayram Huseynzada and ATIAHI official Mirza Jafarzada wishing the new chairman of the STUC success in his future activities and giving their recommendations.
